Co-owner (with Andy) of Sun4free.com I came to Tenerife in Jan 1987 looking for a more ‘laid back‘ lifestyle. I bought a large shell of a building and some land, built this into a climbing and walking centre which I operated for several years and developed a small vineyard. Four years ago I retired, this lasted for two weeks! I then bought a half finished house and two building plots with the intention of working when I felt like it. After finishing the house I decided to retire again and started looking around the world for somewhere else to live. After a few months Andy‘s brother in law persuaded me to do a large building job for him and to employ Andy as a labourer. Andy in turn, after months of pressure, persuaded me to join him in a venture into the internet world. I had been an early user of computers in my uk business and designed my own software programs (there was nothing commercially available to do what I wanted to do). After almost 18 years away from computers I had some serious learning to do as well as all the red tape and paperwork of starting a new business in Tenerife. We had a two year business plan and a clear idea of where we and the company would be after that time, as is usual in Tenerife things didn‘t go according to plan but for once it was to the good, after two years we were way ahead of expectations but working longer hours than at almost any time of my life. Latest news:- Marketing Visions Tenerife S.L. our parent company, has merged with Tenerife Ideas S.L. The new company will continue under the banner of Marketing Visions. The main advantage is for the existing Tenerife Ideas clients, who‘ll have access to the search engine optimisation expertise of Marketing Visions while Marketing Visions will now be able to offer simple yet sophisticated web sites to the smaller client.
